I have been a registered Social Worker within the province of Nova Scotia since 1998 and been involved in private practice since 2006. I have worked in various aspects within many community based agencies, clinics, programs and institutions and in a variety of counseling roles. I have experience working with youth/adolescents and extensive experience working with adults, couples/families. I have developed and facilitated various informational, educational training programs and support groups/treatment groups.

My area of expertise is mental health and addictions and includes extensive knowledge and competency with regard to bio-psychosocial assessments, mental health assessments/diagnostic assessments (DSM-V), suicide risk assessments, anxiety disorders management, depression support/management, addictions, body image, eating disorders, grief/ bereavement, self-esteem, assertiveness, anger management, stress management, and critical incident stress debriefing.
